How to save your invitation card as a PDF or a picture

4 min read · Updated 2026-12-05

An online invitation is a link, and a link is the best way to share it. But sometimes you want the card as a file: a PDF for a relative who prefers one, a picture for a status or a story, or a copy for the print shop. The editor now has an Export button that makes all of these from the card you built.

What you can export

  • A PDF of the whole card: every page of the card is a sheet, in order, in its own colours and fonts.
  • A picture (PNG) of the page that is open in the editor, made at twice the screen's sharpness.
  • Pictures of every page together, as one zip file.

Export a card in four steps

  1. Open your card in the editor and save it. The export is made from the saved card, so the editor asks you to save first if there are changes.
  2. Open the page you want as a picture, if you want a picture.
  3. Press "Export" at the top and choose PDF, a picture of this page, or pictures of every page.
  4. Wait a few seconds while the file is made, then your browser saves it.

What the file looks like

The file is the card as a still: the same sections, texts, fonts and colours your guests see, one page under the other, with nothing moving. Openings, music, falling petals and other effects belong to the link, so they are not in a file. Dates are written the way they read in your own time zone.

When to send the link and when to send the file

  • Send the link when you can: it always shows the latest time and place, and guests can reply with one tap.
  • Send the PDF to people who print things, or who have no data to open links.
  • Post the picture of the first page as a status or a story, with the link in your message.
  • Keep a PDF of the final card for your own records, since the file does not change when you edit the card later.

Who can export

Only the person who owns a card can export it. The server opens a private page for your card that works for two minutes and only for you, so nobody else can make a file of your card. To print the card, read how to print an invitation card.

Questions

Does exporting cost anything?

No. Exporting is part of the editor for the cards you own, on every template.

Why does the editor ask me to save first?

The file is made from the saved card. If you have changes that are not saved, the file would not have them.

Is the text in the PDF selectable?

Yes. The PDF is printed from the page itself, so its text can be selected and searched.

Will the music and the opening be in the file?

No. Sound and openings only work on the link. The file shows the card's pages as they look once it is open.
