How to print an invitation card made online

4 min read · Updated 2026-12-05

Many families still want a printed card for the elders, the temple or the notice board. You do not have to design a second invitation: make a PDF of the one you already built and print that. Here is how to get a clean print at home or from a print shop.

Make the PDF

  1. Finish your card and save it.
  2. Press "Export" in the editor and choose PDF of the card.
  3. Open the file and check that every page is there and the texts are right, before you print anything.

Print it at home

  • Choose A4 paper (the PDF is made for A4) and "actual size" or 100%, not "fit to page".
  • Turn on "background graphics" or "print backgrounds" if your program has the option, so the colours print.
  • Print one copy first on plain paper to see the colours, then use better paper for the rest.
  • A heavier, matt paper makes dark cards look richer.

Print it at a print shop

  • Send the PDF as it is. Ask for A4, or ask them to reduce it to A5 for a smaller card.
  • Say that the card has full-colour backgrounds that go to the edge of the sheet, so they can set the paper and the borders.
  • Ask for one test print, and check the colours against your screen before you order many.
  • A dark template uses a lot of ink, so ask the price for a full-colour print before you decide on the template.

What is not printed

A printed card cannot play music or open with an animation, and it cannot take a reply. Add a line to your message such as "the full card is at this link" and put the link on the printed card, so guests who want the map or a reply tap the link. You can also save the card as a picture for a status or a story.

Questions

Which paper size is the PDF?

A4, portrait. Each page of your card starts on a new sheet, and a long page continues on the next one.

Can I print on a smaller paper?

Yes. Choose A5 or "fit to page" when you print, or ask the print shop to reduce it.

The background colour did not print. What now?

Turn on "background graphics" in the print window, or try printing from the PDF viewer instead of from the browser.

Can anyone else print my card?

Only you, as the owner, can export your card as a file. Guests see the link.
