A birthday invitation with candles to blow out, balloons to pop and music

Most birthday invitations are read in two seconds. These three are played with: guests blow out candles, pop balloons or tap a little piano before they read a word, and then they remember the party. Here is what each one does and who it suits.
Make a Wish: blow out the candles
The card opens on a birthday cake in a dark room with five burning candles. Guests hold a button to take a breath, the flames lean away, and when they let go the candles go out one by one in little wisps of smoke. After a quiet moment to make a wish there is a fanfare, a party blower and a cheer, two cannons shoot confetti across the screen and a party tune starts. Confetti keeps falling over the card, and the pages change behind a wave of rising balloons. See Make a Wish.
Balloon Pop: pop the balloons
Seven balloons bob in a bright sky. Each one pops when it is tapped, in a burst of confetti, and when the last one is gone the birthday name rises in big letters and the card opens. Balloons keep floating up the card as guests read. It makes no sound at all, which makes it a good choice for school, work and quiet rooms. See Balloon Pop.
Music Box: a lullaby and a little piano
The card starts hidden behind an arrow. A tap, or a swipe up, slides the cover away and starts a soft music-box lullaby. Further down is a piano of eight coloured keys that ring like a music box, with a button that plays Happy Birthday by itself and rests the lullaby while it does. See Music Box.
Things to know about sound
- Phones only allow sound after a tap, so every card with music starts it on the guest's first tap: letting go of the breath, or the arrow.
- The card downloads its music, effects and other pages first and shows a loading bar, so everything plays on time.
- There is always a button to turn the sound off.
- If the music cannot be downloaded, the card still opens and says so.
Which one should I pick?
- A child's party with many guests on WhatsApp: Balloon Pop.
- An 18th, 30th or 50th that should feel like a moment: Make a Wish.
- A first birthday or a quiet family party: Music Box.
- No budget yet: the free Pastel Party, and switch later without losing your texts.
Questions
Can I try a paid template before buying?
Yes. You can build the whole card with it and preview the opening first. To make the card live you unlock the template and have a page slot.
What if a guest cannot hold the button?
A short tap only flickers the flames and says to hold a little longer. A person who asked their phone for less motion blows the candles out with one tap, and there is a Skip button once the opening has started.
Can I change the words on the opening?
Yes. Every word of the opening can be changed in the editor, and "Preview the opening" shows the change.
Will it be smooth on an old phone?
A phone that struggles with effects draws a lighter version of the same card, and pages change with a quick fade instead of a long animation.
